  2. Request Pagatinu for a specific amount and receive a voucher with a unique code.
  3. Enter this code on the Pagatinu box in the apartment to reveal the number of kWh purchased.

Where to buy:

  • Supermarkets, gas stations and boticas are Pagatinu points of sale.
  • Nearest points of sale: Het Wasje, Van den Tweel Zeelandia, Casa Cora Supermarket. Both cash and debit cards are possible at various locations.

Laundry room

Next to the office is the laundry room with two washing machines and two dryers. Tokens for the washing machines are available in the office. Each washing or drying cycle takes approximately 45 minutes. Pay attention to the time to prevent others from having to wait.

How do the washing machines work:

  1. Put the clothes in the washing machine (separated by color and white).
  2. Add detergent.
  3. Select the desired temperature.
  4. Place the coin in the slot and press it in.
  5. The washing machine starts to spin.

Security

At Girasol Apartments, your safety is our priority:

The entrance gate has an automatic scanning system. Each resident receives a key and keytag for the gate. Loss of the keytag must be reported immediately to Tanya or the interns to prevent unauthorized access. The entire complex has security cameras for indoor and outdoor safety. Report incidents immediately, because the camera memory resets regularly. Some cameras focus on the street to monitor parked cars outside the gate.

Fire safety is guaranteed by the presence of distributed fire extinguishers throughout the complex.

Aqualectra

On Curaçao, Aqualectra supplies water and electricity to Girasol Apartments. Every month, tenants receive the water bill per apartment for their previous monthly consumption. The Girasol manager receives these invoices per apartment and forwards them to the relevant apartments.

You can pay at various Aqualectra payment points, including Centrum Mahaai and Botica Santa Rosa. At the counter of these locations you provide the 'Number di kuenta' and pay the amount of the invoice. For newcomers, this process will be explained by email by the administrator upon receipt of the first invoice. It is important to keep all receipts as they are necessary in case of any payment issues. On average, water consumption for two people in an apartment is around XCG 50 per month, although this may vary depending on individual use.

World plugs

At Girasol Apartments we have 110 volt sockets. International travelers will need a specific power plug from the United States to charge or use electronic devices during their stay, as shown in the photo. Ensure a pleasant stay by bringing the right plug.

Declaration of Law

The Declaration of Law (VvR) is essential for anyone who wants to do an internship or work in Curaçao. This statement is mandatory and shows that you are entitled to stay on the island for work or internship purposes. Obtaining a VvR is an important step and the process can take some time.
